Kazakhstan Explores Crypto Banks to Bolster Digital Asset Ecosystem
Kazakhstan is advancing plans to establish crypto banks as part of a strategic initiative to create a regulated digital asset framework. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov confirmed the government’s stance during a parliamentary session, responding to inquiries from the Mazhilis.
The proposed crypto banks would offer CORE services including exchange, custody, and transaction processing. Infrastructure is expected to leverage existing entities within the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), where multiple licensed digital asset firms already operate.
